China has emerged as the global leader in clean energy industries, reshaping the trajectory of the energy transition worldwide. This talk examines the rapid rise of China’s electric vehicle (EV) industry. I discuss how coordinated industrial policies, consumer incentives, and rapid expansion of charging infrastructure helped scale early adoption. Over time, intense competition, learning-by-doing in battery production, and a dense, clustered supply chain drove down costs and improved quality. The interaction between policy and market forces offers important lessons for accelerating clean energy transitions in other countries.

主講人簡介

李善軍，斯坦福大學(xué)多爾可持續(xù)發(fā)展學(xué)院 Steven and Roberta Denning 講席教授，擔(dān)任斯坦福中國經(jīng)濟(jì)與制度研究中心（SCCEI）可持續(xù)與能源轉(zhuǎn)型項(xiàng)目主任。曾任康奈爾大學(xué)戴森應(yīng)用經(jīng)濟(jì)與管理學(xué)院 Kenneth L. Robinson 講席教授，康奈爾中國經(jīng)濟(jì)研究所主任。其主要研究領(lǐng)域包括環(huán)境與能源經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、城市與交通經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、經(jīng)驗(yàn)產(chǎn)業(yè)組織以及中國經(jīng)濟(jì)，在能源轉(zhuǎn)型、環(huán)境治理、交通政策與清潔能源產(chǎn)業(yè)發(fā)展等方面作出了重要貢獻(xiàn)。其研究成果發(fā)表于 American Economic Review、Review of Economic Studies、International Economic Review、Journal of Public Economics、Review of Economics and Statistics、Journal of Urban Economics、Management Science等國際頂級學(xué)術(shù)期刊。李善軍教授現(xiàn)任 Journal of Public Economics 與 International Journal of Industrial Organization 聯(lián)合主編，China Economic Review 副主編，同時(shí)擔(dān)任美國國家經(jīng)濟(jì)研究局（NBER）研究員及未來資源研究所（RFF）大學(xué)研究員。
