自端午上映以來，國產懸疑片《消失的她》票房一路攀升，現已突破 23 億元，超過一眾好萊塢大片，成為全球票房周冠軍。我選取了多家外媒的報道，在正文開始前，我們先從標題中學幾個好用的表達。

01 標題

rocket

熟詞生義

rocket 是「火箭」，火箭上升速度驚人，一飛沖天，所以 rocket 還可以作動詞，表示價格或數量「迅速上升，猛漲」，另一個詞跟它長得很像，也可以表示類似的意思，這就是 skyrocket 。另外的近義詞還包括 surge, soar, shoot up 等。

kick off

四級詞匯

表示「開始」，我們馬上想到了 start 和 begin 。但原文卻用上了一個詞組——kick off。這個短語男生們可能比較熟悉，指足球比賽中的「開球」。開球意味著比賽開始，所以，后來的 kick off 也可以指某件事的開始。

The chairman's speech will kick off the conference.

會議將以主席的講話開始。

shakily

四級詞匯

形容詞 shaky 常用來表示因年邁或驚嚇而導致聲音、身體等「顫抖的」，相當于 unsteady。比如，a shaky voice「顫抖的聲音」。但電影不會顫抖，所以文中的 shaky 用來表示 it is weak or unstable, and seems unlikely to last long or be successful，形容好萊塢電影的表現「不穩固的；搖搖欲墜的」。用大白話來說，就是「不靠譜」，比如，紀錄片 Clarkson’s Farm 的主角。

star as X

熟詞生義 + 考研詞匯

星星非常閃亮，所以 star 還可以用來指「主角，主演」。所以，當 star 作動詞時，可以表示「擔任主角；主演」，相當于 play。大家可以看下面的截圖，來自今年一部表現出色的香港電影《毒舌律師》。「領銜主演」正是用了 star 這個動詞的 ing 形式。A stars as B 自然就是「A 飾演 B」的意思了。

out of the blue

blue 另一個很常用的意思是「憂郁的，悲觀的」。如果別人問你今天過得怎么樣，你覺得好郁悶，好郁悶。就可以說：I feel blue. 所以，有字幕翻譯人員把 out of the blue 理解成了「離開陰郁」，但這個詞組的實際意思是 unexpectedly 「出乎意料地，突然地」，口語、寫作都常用到。

指的是《速度與激情 10》。這一系列完整的片名是 Fast & Furious。furious 除了表示「狂怒的」，還可以表示 with great energy, speed or anger「激烈的；迅速的」，影片跟飛車有著緊密聯系，所以中文譯為《速度與激情》。

mid-May premiere /?premie?; pr??m?r/

這個單詞與倆讀音，美式更偏向于后者。premiere 指的是 the first public performance of a film / movie or play，即電影、戲劇等的「首次公演，首映」。前面的 mid-May 是「五月中旬」。因為 mid- 等同于 middle。所以「二十五歲左右」我們除了直接點明 twenty-five 之外，還可以寫成 in one's mid-twenties。

homegrown movies

homegrown 字面意思是「在家里長出來的」，而且 home 還有「本國」的意思。因此，一方面 homegrown 可以表示「自家/本地種植的」，如，home-grown tomatoes 就是「自家種的西紅柿」。

另一方面，它還可以表示 made, trained or educated in your own country, town, etc，中文是「本國生產的，本地培養的」。「國產電影」除了可以用 homegrown movies，還可以寫成 domestic movies。
