7月6日，中國外交部部長助理蔡偉前往委內瑞拉駐華使館吊唁，對委內瑞拉地震遇難者表示深切哀悼，祝愿委內瑞拉政府和人民早日戰勝災害、重建家園。
委內瑞拉駐華大使塞瓦略斯對中方吊唁和提供的地震救災支持表示衷心感謝。
