影片聚焦毛澤東同志譽為“得意之筆”的四渡赤水戰役，再現3萬紅軍在40萬敵軍圍追堵截下絕地突圍的軍事奇跡。全片32個取景地、107個場景均在貴州實景拍攝，戰爭場面震撼逼真。
