斗草是植根華夏大地的傳統民俗游戲，流傳千年，藏著獨屬于古代市井與深閨的鮮活意趣。盛唐詩歌繁榮，諸多詩人以筆墨記錄下斗草嬉游的生動畫面，將少女閑情、四時風物、民間樂事盡數寫進詩行。本文精選十四首唐代經典斗草詩作配上英譯，還原傳統民俗本貌，解讀唐詩里獨有的東方閑情雅趣。

值得指出的是，唐代斗草分為兩種玩法：

一是“武斗”（斗草莖）：兩人各持一根草莖交叉拉扯，草莖先斷者落敗，類似草莖拔河，英文譯作 stem tug-of-war，多為孩童、鄉間百姓游玩；

二是“文斗”（對草名）：眾人采摘各色花草，輪流報出花草名目，比拼花草數量與稀有程度，不靠拉扯，比拼見識，譯為 grass-stem contest，深受宮廷女子、仕女喜愛。

本次收錄詩作同時涵蓋兩種場景，兼顧民間與宮廷風貌。既有武斗也有文斗，民間百姓和兒童玩的斗草游戲，基本屬于武斗。而文人雅士、淑女名媛、上流社會流行的是文斗。詩作中兩類場景并存，以信達雅和功能對等、少歸化、無異化為翻譯準則：
